- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, and 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese. Mix until smooth.
- Stir in the shredded chicken, hot sauce, melted butter, and garlic powder until fully combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a shallow baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheese (and blue cheese crumbles, if using) over the top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and the cheese is melted with golden spots.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with extra hot sauce or chopped green onions if desired.
- Serve warm with celery, carrots, chips, pretzels, or bread.
Notes
For a slow cooker version, combine all ingredients except the final cheese topping in the cooker. Cook on LOW for 2 hours, stir, top with cheese, and let melt. Use rotisserie chicken for a quick, flavorful shortcut. Adjust heat by increasing hot sauce to 3/4 cup for more spice or starting with 1/3 cup for milder flavor. The dip can be assembled a day ahead, covered, and refrigerated; add 5-10 minutes to baking time.
